Its aim is to provide a series of high-quality profiles and reports on selected Müslim countries, regions and peoples; the historical and contemporary role of İslam in the relevant socio-political context will be care- fully studied, with a view to presenting the serious reader with an accurate and balanced report, one which combines an understanding of the principles of İslam vvith a commitment to the most rigorous standards of objective analy- sis.
